Neuro Assessment of Pelvic Limbs:

LPL - appears wnl in movement, sensation, strength, and reflexes

RPL - p is able to move at the hip and stifle, less movement observed at the IT joint and minimal at the digits, does have withdrawal and superficial pain sensation, no tactile or visual placing, present but decreased patellar and gastrocnemius reflexes

As there has been some improvement observed over the past week we elected to give p more time for recovery but remain concerned about long-term nerve damage.

1) Severe chronic right pelvic polytrauma, involving the right ilium, ishium, and caudal synsacrum. The right
coxofemoral joint is normally aligned and no direct articular involvement is identified.
2) Splenomegaly. Differentials include splenitis (viral, fungal), neoplastic infiltration (lymphoma), or congestion.
The ovoid soft tissue structure adjacent to the spleen may represent a splenunculus or enlarged lymph node.
3) Subjective thickening of the ventricular wall. This may be a normal variant; however, infiltrative etiologies
(lymphoma) are considered less likely.
4) Intramedullary soft tissue attenuation within the left distal humerus. This most likely represents resolving
hematoma (given the evidence of trauma); however, fungal granuloma is not excluded.

Based on exam, soft tissue trauma of left hip.  Cant rule out no-displaced pelvic fracture, but no neurologic abnormalities in pelvic limbs or vent at intake.  Gave 0.2mls meloxicam IM left pectoral, AI swabs taken.  When cleared, rads of pelvis to rule out fracture.
